The senior care decision is high-stakes, time-pressured, and emotional. Most directories add to that pressure with sales calls, urgent messaging, and curated reviews. We are committed to the opposite: fewer noisy signals, better data, and a process that respects how long these decisions actually take.
Families should never feel rushed into a placement. Good care choices are usually made by comparing a few realistic options, checking the pricing in writing, and visiting in person with enough time to think. Our entire site is designed to support that pace.

Things We Said NO to Intentionally
Most senior care websites are built around two patterns: user reviews and national reach. We deliberately opted out of both. Each is a real product decision with a clear reason behind it.
No reviews. No testimonials.
Online reviews for senior care are uniquely unreliable. Many facilities solicit reviews at the most positive moments, hire reputation-management firms to suppress negative ones, and respond aggressively to anything critical. The most vulnerable residents (the ones without engaged family) are the least likely to have anyone leaving a review on their behalf. The result is survivorship bias dressed up as social proof.
Testimonials carry the same problem. A glowing quote tells you what one family felt at one moment. It tells you nothing about staffing ratios, medication errors, inspection history, or the things that actually determine your loved one's safety.
We chose to lean on something harder to manipulate: the public AHCA inspection record. It is not perfect, but it is standardized, independent, and accountable.
Florida only. On purpose.
Senior care regulation is a state-by-state world. Florida licensing categories (ALF, ECC, LNS, LMH), AHCA inspection processes, the 45-day discharge rule, the Statewide Medicaid Managed Care Long-Term Care program, the Long-Term Care Ombudsman structure: these are all Florida-specific. A national directory has to flatten or skip the local rules that actually matter to a family making a real placement.
We'd rather be deeply useful in one state than thinly useful in fifty. Every guide on this site cites Florida statutes. Every facility profile pulls from AHCA's public records. Every payment explainer covers Florida Medicaid, not a generic version that's wrong everywhere.
Niche is intentional. It's how we keep the data accurate and the advice actually applicable.
The Florida Landscape
Florida has more than 3,600 licensed assisted living facilities statewide, with South Florida alone accounting for well over 1,500 across Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach counties. They range from small residential homes with 5 to 10 beds to large communities with more than 100 residents. Some cater to affluent retirees with resort-style amenities; others serve lower-income residents with Medicaid support. Most fall somewhere in between, and the variation in quality, pricing, staffing, and care philosophy is significant. That variation is exactly why families need a tool built for this state.
